“For a little dog, he’s pretty fearless.” The one-eyed Chihuahua named Mini Cooper is everything you’d want in a pooch. He’s sweet, energetic, and most importantly – requires the one thing we all can’t live without. LOVE.
Mini Cooper is a small puppy with a huge personality, and it’s almost impossible to miss his wonderful presence. At least, that’s how the Lakewood Magazine has labeled the pooch.
Katherine Baronet is the main heroine of this story. She adopted this 9-year-old Chihuahua years ago. At first, the one-eyed Mini Cooper was a foster (how cute is that name?) but Katherine instantly fell in love. She knew she wanted to keep him.
The tiny dog only has one eye.
“He had two eyes when I got him, but one of them was really small. After about three months, I could tell it was really irritating him because he kept batting it with his paw,” Baronet says.
After a trip to the vet, they saw that Mini Cooper had no retina activity. To ease his irritation, they removed the eye.
The one-eyed wonder doesn’t let that get in the way. He loves to play and be around people, and he’ll always high-five for a treat.
The dog is so approachable, and curious people always ask her what happened to his eye, Baronet says.
In many cases, people mistake him for a puppy because of his size, but the 6.5-pound Chihuahua doesn’t mind the attention.
“He wants to be loved and he wants to love in return,” Baronet says.
